The Braithwaite House is a family owned business. Being familiar with traditional retail selling, the on-line selling venue of the Braithwaite House Scented Soy Candles was a natural progression. We are mindful of our clientèle's needs, not to mention customer service which is so very important. Many of our family members have been recruited to help with the testing of our richly scented soy candles, Patti-Meltz and Wickless Flame.
Our name? – Well that stems from the many hours of genealogy research done on our family. At last count we have 6 volumes of family history which encompass thousands of names and at least 11 countries. Of the multitude of ancestors, we have the most research on our Grandmother's Braithwaite and Pennington dating back to the early 16th century. Both lineages of Braithwaite and Pennington ancestors originated in England, settling in Virginia. When you take a tour through the Braithwaite House you will find many of our candle fragrances named for various ancestors and their favorite haunts. A fitting tribute to those who came before us.
So, with great minds thinking alike – we combined our love of things that are fragrant, love of family members past and present, and let’s not forget the collectibles which takes us back to a time gone by. Times when we were all children, times that gave us comfort, and times that gave us happy memories we all enjoy to this day.
